It gets even better,, or worse, as the case may be.

Maybe it was just another man in a duster that looked down from the hill as we lynched each other. No one could really say, and is sure is easier to pretend. All we can know for sure is that the man who ran the ice cream parlor soon couldn't make his rent and had to close up shop, and the little garden that we all loved so much was where the new Council chose to put the cemetary, with row after row of unlabled headstones. They said it was meant to shame the dead, as though the dead would even care about what people thought about them now, and every time they talked about it, the Council there acted like they were happy, and talked about the "great vic'try!", but they still acted restless when they looked at the horizon and thought someone else might be thinking differently in some other town. All that really mattered to most of us was that we found a black tear-stained duster on that first sunrise, and not a one of us ever saw the Justice again.

I love you, up there.

Maude Lebowski: Now, what happened to your face? Did Jackie Treehorn do that as well?
The Dude: Ah, no that was the chief of police of Malibu. A real reactionary.

Aw, man, the Legend of Justice Sunday made me cry. Brittney, I just want to sit down and have a few drinks with you and talk about our dogs or the weather or nothing. Let's not put that off.

How does Tuesday or Wednesday sound, B?

Either one works great for me. Drop me an email and let me know what you have in mind.

I can't lie: My ego is hella puffed up right now that you quoted me.

Best of luck to you, Brittney. I don't know you personally, but you seem like good people to me.

Between what's happened to you and the comparatively-microscopic drama I've had to put up with at my own place this week, I have completely lost faith in the idea that, on the internet, people can both disagree and be civil. In fact, the more one party bows out, the more heated the other party will get over it. Has anyone done a study about this?

BLAH BLAH BLAH CUNT CUNT CUNT CUCUMBER SANDWICHES AT TUESDAY BLAH BLAH CUNT BLAH THAT'S YOU GUYS RIGHT THERE

Thanks for the support. I can't believe I'm being railroaded by fellow liberals for, well, for I don't quite know what.

How incredibly disappointing.
I hope you are doing well and that you had a great trip. You're in my thoughts.

Havin moved out of Nashville many years ago, I'm only now reading this. How did I find this? Oh yeah, Anil Dash. You're a great blogger Brittney, and skin grows thick over time, believe me.

Keep at it.

Maybe I haven't had enough caffeine this morning or maybe I'm crazy, but I'd like to think this is all part of a right-wing conspiracy to wedge a divide in the liberal blogosphere.

Or maybe there really are liberals out there who will turn against their own. Geez, it's starting to feel like the African savanna out there.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Where I come from we have the sack to discuss difficult issues honestly and in a civil manner. There's also a little thing called the First Amendment - just because you are offended doesn't mean we shouldn't explore why people say racist, classist, or sexist things. In fact, if you can do that with an open mind you are doing more good in this world than you know.

It is really sad that people - adults, even! - are so pathetic. What is it about this world of blogging that makes people get so out of control?

I hope you are feeling happy and free now Brittney. You deserve it, even though I miss you at NiT.

Lesley, this isn't right wing or left wing...this is about the lack of common human courtesy and decency.

It is very disheartening to see how people use the internet to spread their anger and hatred toward each other with no decorum whatsoever. Something that could be used for good has become something used for attacking each other.

i hope you're feeling better today. I haven't commented on this whole thing once but I'm keeping up...it blows really...you've come to far...far too far.

i'm rather at a loss after reading all that. it's like Stupid is on sale and some people are maxing out their credit to buy it all up.

Joe P, you made me laugh and sigh at the same time. How very true.

Still ignoring that big ole blue elephant in the middle of the room, eh? Even now that said elephant has left several steaming piles, the left is still nattering on and even trying to blame this on the right. The left is rapidly moving beyond irrelevance, into total obscurity. Not a minute too soon, either.

The General's shtick has always seemed to me to be something of a one-trick pony, a lot of jeering disguised as political discourse. I have never liked it. I like it a lot less now.

Hope you find a new job soon, and a worthy one.

"I have to be honest and tell you that my entire perception of the internet and online communications has to be reevaluated after all this."

I'm trying hard not to let all of this drive me away from blogging and reading blogs.

Much love to you and yours Brittney.

It appears as though anyone who (a) disagrees with the blogswarm, and (b) with an easily identifiable employer is now a target.

Sheesh.

I really don't like where all of this appears to be heading.

Brittney,

I finally spoke up a couple nights ago just before you did on a certain blog who shall not be named on ironically a "Stop It" thread. Since I have fairly recently experienced the 'third time is a charm' value of being a RFR/C (Recovering Firedoglake Reader/Commenter) over the past 2 years I know a quite a little bit about their whole group think history that keeps driving me away and the person in question of this subject that I didn't realize was doing a sockpuppet act on the other place. Which by the way he's a regular over at The Next Hurrah also, under his "real name" through no fault of that blog owners.

At the time I made that comment doing some protesting of my own to them about what they were doing (I rarely go there and never comment) I couldn't help question the identity of this second issue that cropped up. I hadn't read SEK's latest updates yet that came out so I decided some people do have split personalities when you least expect it and I have now retracted part of what I had to say then in a post of my own today done in your honors, and had a good time describing my take on what I witnessed all week.

I haven't blogged for months because I'm always busy helping others build their own blogs. We can chalk this up as a new beginning in the blogosphere for many of us. You have all won thousands of new fans & friends that understand what really happened. Hang in there, hang on, so we can hang out.

I'm impressed how your groups handled the whole thing very graciously. These elitist self entitled *ahem* A-listers were overdue for a few reality checks. What happened to you inspired me to start blogging again. Good does come from any bad. Please remember that reaching or ending one goal is always the beginning of another. *cheers*

I'm not sure of your commenting policies here yet and so I don't know if I should put the link up or have you just click on my name if you are interested in reading it. But I will be back often and I'm adding several of your blogs to my blogroll. It's refreshing to get to say Hell Yes once in awhile.
