Awww. That's absolutely heartwarming.

A few years ago, i wouldn't have thought so. But now... having a puppy...

I thought for sure when I started reading that you were leading up to a bad pun based on the Elton John song. Having just googled for the lyrics, I can't come up with anything. Can you?

Levon wears his war wound like a crown
He calls his child Jesus
`Cause he likes the name
And he sends him to the finest school in town

Levon, Levon likes his money
He makes a lot they say
Spend his days counting
In a garage by the motorway

He was born a pauper to a pawn on a Christmas day
When the New York Times said God is dead
And the war's begun
Alvin Tostig has a son today

And he shall be Levon
And he shall be a good man
And he shall be Levon
In tradition with the family plan
And he shall be Levon
And he shall be a good man
He shall be Levon

Levon sells cartoon balloons in town
His family business thrives
Jesus blows up balloons all day
Sits on the porch swing watching them fly

And Jesus, he wants to go to Venus
Leaving Levon far behind
Take a balloon and go sailing
While Levon, Levon slowly dies

I was walking along merrily today, and suddenly MY coccyx started to hurt for the first time ever.

I know we're pals, but did you voodoo me?

Britt! Someone just told me that the Red Rose is going out of business. Is that for true?

It is for very true.

Sorry to say, that place hadn't been making money for years. No more
crackaccinos. Starsucks is your only solace now. :(

Here is a letter to the editor the boyfriend wrote to the Nashville Scene regarding the Red Rose's closing (among other things): http://nashvillezine.com/archives/001241.html#comments

Well, fuck, that sucks.

And the Red Rose closing sucks.

So much stuff sucks.

For some reason, I though Kevin owned the place. I guess not, huh?

It definitely sucks that the place is closing, not that I've ever been there (in fact, I don't think I've ever been in your state). I see Starbucks everywhere nowadays and I'm pretty much sick of it. Ditto for Walgreens, WalMart, Krispy Kreme, and a slew of other businesses that are saturating our homey little towns. Fuck 'em all. And fuck all the wingnuts who think that because big chains are everywhere that somehow makes them better. I don't know about any of you, but the few times I've bothered with Starbucks' coffee it's always been burnt and sour. I'll take my local Mill Creek Coffee folks any day over that crap.

yea! down with the coffee establishment!
viva the coffee revolution!

sometimes I think small businesses would do well to have a
suggestion box, or be in tune with their customers more.

A local hobby shop near me is closing because they charge 32.95 for a battery that costs 4.95 online. They they bitch at me about how they can't compete with the internet. I am like, first you have all gas model airplane parts, and everyone is flying electric. The electric r/c airplane market is booming. it's all about providing a service to customers. if you don't do that, don't expect to stay in business. I feel ba dfor this guy but he just is such a know it all, he will never change.
