Being cold means staying in and working. And one of the things I have been working on is this: The Pepsi Refresh Project. You may have seen some commercials about it on during major sporting events, but it's a charity grant project that Pepsi is running wherein the top voted ideas get as much as $250,000. For the month of August doubled its grants in order to offer funds specifically o those affected by the oil spill in the Gulf region. Modest Needs, the non-profit for which I am in charge of marketing and outreach, is a participant in the Pepsi Refresh Project for the Gulf.
Our idea is to use the $250,000 grant to aid those who are now out of work due to the oil spill disaster in the Gulf. The top two ideas, as voted online, will be granted a quarter of a million dollars to assist those unemployed through no fault of their own. Voting is for the entire month of August.
You can vote every day. I would like it very much if you voted every day. It's pretty quick and painless, I promise, and if Modest Needs wins, the money will go directly, and quickly, to those Gulf residents laid off. A little clicking will go a long, long way.
Go over to the Pepsi Refresh Project and see the video I created, with a little help, that more succinctly explains how Modest Needs hopes to refresh the lives of those in the Gulf. Then vote. Then tell your pets to vote, and make voting mandatory if you are anybody's boss, and also parents, maybe threaten grounding if they don't vote? Excellent.
Thank you. You're awesome.
